Cataract is the clouding of the lens in the eyes that affects vision. A cataract can occur in either both eyes but it can’t spread from one eye to another. At first, it will just start small that makes your vision blurry. The light of the sun or a lamp might seem to be too bright or glaring.
In fact, most people under the age 40 will likely have a cataract for us we grow older some of the protein may clump together and start to cloud a small area of the lens. But no one knows why as we age the eye’s lens changes that later on formed as cataract.
Scientists discovered a new way to block the cataracts which is the called as lanosterol. They observed two Chinese children that share a mutation that blocked the production of the steroid lanosterol.
They have been tested repeatedly, and it showed that lanosterol was able to significantly shrink the cataract. The scientists then added that if it is proved that human can use this ingredient it will be for sale as a non invasive treatment for individuals that is affected by cataracts.
It seems that many are diagnosed with cataracts and it is a leading cause of blindness. Presently, the only way to battle cataract is by removing surgically the clouded lens from the eye and by replacing an artificial lens.
This is not yet advised by the medical practitioners but it seems that many people can’t wait for this study to be approved.
